Mabel Street

A home is an extension of our bodies, beliefs, and values. They are a place of refuge, a manifestation of our lives and change as we do. A home allows one to surround themselves with objects that reflect their history, encounters, and experiences.

Creating space with a quiet simplicity that counters our sometimes hectic and complex lifestyles, and investing in a conscious decision of quality over quantity. Retaining heritage and presence in the neighborhood. Opening up the layout to allow for natural light was also a priority since the house was small. We wanted it to be full of the desert light.

For us home isn’t simply about the space you live in, it’s also about the sense of belonging to a particular place. We were drawn to Mabel Street due to its proximity to downtown and the university – we can walk or ride our bikes to our favorite markets, coffee shops, and taco joints.
